Here we have Woody Guthrie as an octopus. Done in watercolor and ink on bristol paper. The octopus represents everything he is against. Society taking everything they can get their hands on and squeezing the shit out of it till it's gone. The suitcase represents his rambling ways. Just a floatin along the river playing his geeeeetar.

Titled: Third Times A Charm
Why? Because it took me three tries to get this damn painting how I wanted it! Acrylic on canvas.
This one was a class project. I was supposed to an advertisement using ink and colored pencil for an energy drink company. Well I don't drink energy drinks. I get my extra kick in the rear from the ol' fashioned cup o' Joe. Lord Windsor is a new coffee shop that is opening up here in Long Beach that I'm really excited about. I met the owners and they're super rad folks. I figured I give this to them when I get it back.

I've been on a Santana kick lately. I painted this to go in a group show at Fingerprints record store here in Long Beach. The opening date isn't set in stone but should be coming here pretty soon. This is Santana's debut album cover from 1969 with a Creep twist to it. All the black line work is done with one shot enamel on the front of the window and the color is acrylic paint on the back. I had a lot of fun with this one.
This is a class assignment I really enjoyed. I was to pick at least two ordinary objects and tell a story in three panels. The objects were: a block of wood, an old date nail with the number 13 on the head(meaning it's from 1913), and a hammer. The story is about the underdogs, the nails and wood, getting revenge on the hammers after years and years of pounding abuse. I used black ink and a little bit of ink wash with this piece.

This big ol guy I did for my Illustration class. It's called "Modern Man". It's my take on the modern man and how some but definitely not all technology is making things too convenient. This very obese man is sitting atop an iphone and dripping with grease. The text, modern man, is being squeezed together by the man's weight.
